About Us
Aomori Black Garlic Association is a cooperative association formed by “Black Garlic of Aomori Prefecture”
manufactures to promote the products. “Black Garlic of Aomori” is a registered regional group trademark (No.5777236)
Background of Establishment
“Black Garlic of Aomori” begins with the gathering of multiple manufacturers that started manufacturing Black Garlic from 2006 to 2007 under Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry (2007 Coordination of Local Community Utilizing Regional Resources Cooperative Activities), the commencement of the product certification system by a third party organization aiming for being recognized as local special products.
Later, each member of the association expanded sales from nationwide Japan to Asia, Europe and the U.S., and the products became well acknowledged by customers, which lead to branding of today’s “Black Garlic of Aomori”
Made a courtesy visit to Mayor of Aomori Prefecture.

Consortium project with Aomori Prefecture Industrial Technology Center Agricultural Production Research Institute - The project aimed at standardization of Black Garlic ingredients was implemented.
GABA and pyroglutamic acid are proven to be contained. Also, manufacturing process of premium Black Garlic has begun to be discovered by the pH aspect and amino acid composition.

Implemented Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry "TOHOKU Regional Brand Creation Support Project" - While union members deployed all over japan and overseas such as USA, Europe, Asia, etc., it brought regional brands and further improved quality, and received assistance from Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry.
